Just a quick announcement, if you’re in the Bay Area, I’ll be having a trunk show Friday December 14th through Sunday December 16th at Purlescence Yarns in Sunnyvale! Everything from the store will be there!

Also, Purlescence Yarns will be carrying hard copies of 4 Fiber Fiend patterns starting today: Corsica, Natalia, Knitis Vinifera, and Velma!

And if you’re in Chicago, Chix with Stix will be carrying hard copies of Corsica very soon!

We might have also bought a TV on Black Friday. And since said TV has a Plasma screen, you can’t tip it sideways, or it might delaminate. So, we might have had to tie said TV to the top of my car for the drive home…

It might have made me a little nervous, driving down the street with a GIANT SAIL on top of my car. Well, R was driving. I was sitting there looking at the box through the moon roof, imploring him to slow down and not drive under any low-hanging trees…

Here’s said TV in my tiny living room with Mojo (and old TV) for scale. (See A Cardigan for Arwen in lower right?)

P.S. The new TV is AWESOME! compared to the old one. Anyone need a TV? The old one is available.

P.P.S.  Anyone for movie/knit night?

November blew by. I’ve been busy knitting (I started SO many projects!! See them all in Ravelry!) and I might have bought some yarn… on Black Friday. Since I might have bought a lot of yarn (at Purlescence), I’ve decided not to buy any more yarn until I’ve finished 20 projects. Or until Stitches West. Whichever happens first.
Fingerless Mitts:

I have to admit, I’m a bit obsessed with spirals. They’re in my Firefly sock pattern, and in the free hat pattern you get when you buy fiber or yarn from the store. These fingerless mitts were inspired by the ones Joan from Elemental Affects had in her booth at the CA Wool & Fiber Festival. Hers had zig-zags. I like zig-zags. I like spirals better! I’m using her Shetland Fingering wool.

I started take 2 of Hannah’s Hello Kitty Knitting Notions Bag using Cascade 220…

Pretty yarn!

I’ve been working on my Debbie Bliss Cabled Hooded Cardigan from Cotton Knits for All Seasons

I finished both fronts, so now all I have to knit is the sleeves and hood… I am loving the Knit Picks Shine Sport.

I started a Cardigan for Arwen, so I could have a mini-knit-along with Pauline

We’re having fun. I’m almost done with the first front/sleeve/hood and I finished the back. Here’s a closer look at the cable… I’m using a VERY different yarn — Gerifil Spaghetti, a cotton/sparkly blend, instead of wool. It seems to be working out pretty well so far!

I also knit up Eunny’s Deep-V Argyle Vest in Lorna’s Laces Twist DK in the Vera colorway and Valley Yarns Deerfield in black. I LOVE IT! Next up, reinforcing and cutting the steeks!!!! =O

Those are the deep v-neck and sleeve steeks you can see… Here’s a close-up of the argyle pattern.

I started Sahara out of Malabrigo worsted in the Indigo colorway. I bought this yarn at Stitches West 2006…

And I HAD to cast on Cathode with the Malabrigo Chunky I bought at Purlescence‘s Black Friday sale… This is the crazy neck.

I’ve been doing a bit of gift knitting as well, but that will be blogged about after gift-giving is done. I’m also learning how to quilt! More on that later.

P.S. Happy Hanukkah to those who are celebrating… I told my parents I’d find my menorah, but I haven’t done it yet… maybe I’ll be motivated to do it right now.
