This is the story of how I didn’t make any money at Stitches…

I only bought stuff from 3 (oops, 4, I forgot about the roving…) vendors! But man, did I like their stuff!

First I was stopped by Lisa Souza’s booth. She had roving, but I was more interested in the yarn.
First I had to fondle some Alpaca Lace, that I never let go of. It’s in the Olive Tones colorway. 8 oz. or 2480 yards! Mmmm….

I then moved a few more feet into the booth and fell in love with El Dorado, a 70% Kid Mohair / 30% Silk yarn which is soooooo soft! It’s 4 oz / 264 yd, also in Olive Tones.

Something might already be in the making with this…

I moved another foot in, and got ahold of this: Blue Faced Leicester in Petroglyph.

It’s 4 oz. / 330 yd, so I’m planning on a pair of socks…

As I walked around to the other side, I picked up a skein of SOCK! Merino in Petroglyph and I couldn’t put it down…

It’s 4 oz. / 560 yd, so I could make some tall socks with it!

I love how I picked the same colorways in different fibers, and how they look totally different…

Then, I couldn’t resist Brooks Farm.

What caught my eye first was their Primero yarn, 100% Kid Mohair. They had the most amazing colors. It’s 8 oz. / 500 yd, and it’s bound to be something lacy!

Next I fell in love with Brooks Farm’s Acero yarn, a 60% superwash wool, 20% silk, 20% viscose sock weight yarn (4 oz / 420 yd). I couldn’t decide on colors, so I got two!

Since I loved the Brooks Farm yarn so much, when I ran into Tina, Linda, and Jill later in the weekend, I had to make sure they didn’t miss the booth. Not only did they get some yummy yarn, I found something I hadn’t seen before and couldn’t resist. It’s Limited Edition II Single Ply of 50% wool 50% mohair, and it’s gorgeous. Someday it will be a scarf (4 oz. / 420 yd)

Last but not least, I jumped on the cashmere boat and got some Belisa Cashmere lace weight for a scarf (50 g / 500 yd)…

Actually the first thing I bought at Stitches was some 70% merino / 30% silk roving, which I think is from Ashland Bay, which is the same stuff I bought from Carolina Homespun a little while ago. I didn’t take any pictures, but you can see what it looks like here — it’s the green one on the left.

Oh, I almost forgot! I got some free samples from the South West Trading Company booth.
