It was awesome to get some spinning done at Spinnity’s on Saturday and at my house last night with Kristi.

Kristi started some amAzing Lisa Souza merino/silk last night, and now I wish I had gotten some at Stitches… Anyhow, last week I started spinning the Romney I got from Yarn Wench for my birthday.

I’m planning on a 2-ply sock yarn. I think I’m just over halfway done with the singles.

Then, I was determined to finish up the bamboo I started so long ago… I spun singles all day on Saturday and finished them up last night.
I tried to wind them into a ball to ply, but I ended up with 7 balls because it BROKE so many times!!

That’s ok, because I think the yarn turned out pretty well, and it only broke once when I wound it into a skein.

It’s 428 yards / 4 oz. of 100% bamboo that I dyed with RIT dye last May.

It’s so nice to spin some yarn for myself!

Although I think there’s a good chance this yarn will be knit up into a gift…

Really nice colors. The Rit dye looks good. I have yet to do my Wilton’s … I’ll have to consult with you again!

I like the grapey color. Is it soft?
