I spun up the latest 6 colorways and 1 older colorway of superwash merino into bulky handspun yarn, available now in the store.

You saw a sneak peek at Reeds last week. Here it is again.

Next up is the Blackberry Swirl colorway.

Next up is the Oregon Coast colorway.

Next is the Berries colorway.

Here we have the Maple colorway.

Here’s the October colorway.

I think I might try to Navajo-ply a skein of this… what do you think?

Last but not least is the Willow colorway.

So, I guess I stressed myself out too much and didn’t consider the germ implications of handling money and yarn and then eating.  As a consequence, I’m home sick today.

I didn’t get any pictures of the event (you weren’t supposed to take any), but someone did.

And now for the promised swatches…

Let’s start with superwash merino…
We have swatches in the Flame colorway in a bulky handspun

And a sample baby sock out of sock weight handspun

We have a swatch out of bulky handspun in the Fire & Ice colorway

And a swatch out of bulky handspun in the Midnight Sky colorway

Along with a swatch out of sock weight handspun in the Midnight Sky colorway

We also have a handspun sock swatch in the Willow colorway

And a handspun baby sock in the Meadow colorway

Moving on to Merino/Tencel, we have a baby sock sample in the Fire & Ice colorway out of a 2-ply sockweight handspun.

There is also a baby sock sample in the Mars colorway out of a 2-ply sockweight handspun.
All the swatches you’ve seen so far have been out of 2-ply yarn.

Next, however, we have a baby sock sample in the Midnight Sky colorway out of a 3-ply Navajo-plied sockweight handspun.

And a bulky handspun swatch in the Flame colorway out of a 3-ply Navajo-plied bulky handspun.

Lastly we have 2 tussah silk swatches. The first is from a 2-ply bulky yarn in the Maple colorway

The second is from a 3-ply Navajo-plied dk-weight yarn in the Mars colorway

Coming up later this week you might be seeing pictures of all the new handspun yarn up for sale and perhaps if it stops raining I’ll take some pictures of the purchases I made at Stitches…

I know I said I’d post swatch pictures yesterday, but Stitches has totally worn me out.  The pictures were taken, I just have to download them and upload them.  I hope to get to it tomorrow night, but if not, it’ll happen Monday!

The madness continues! (Wait… didn’t I already say that?)

So I’ve been busy spinning up a storm of samples in between all my dyeing.

First let’s look at some tussah silk.

Above are the singles and below is a navajo-plied laceweight/dk weight sample yarn in the Blackberry Swirl colorway!.

Next up is the Maple colorway, spun into a 2-ply bulky weight yarn.

Last of the silk is the Mars colorway, navajo-plied into a dk-weight yarn.

Next up we have 4 merino/tencel samples!
The first is the Flame colorway navajo-plied into a bulky weight yarn.

Next is the Mars colorway in a 2-ply sock weight yarn.

Here we have the Midnight Sky colorway navajo-plied into a sock weight yarn.

The last merino/tencel sample is the October colorway navajo-plied into a sock weight yarn.

The last thing I leave you with today is my first handspun skein of bulky superwash merino in the Reeds colorway!

Above are the singles. Below is the 2-ply yarn!

Tomorrow we’ll take a look at the swatches I knit with sample yarn!

Oh yes.  The madness continues…

I am officially done dyeing fiber for Stitches. All 40 lbs. are dyed, dried, and braided!

And now for the pictures!

First let’s look at some superwash merino fiber hanging up to dry…

Above is the Maple colorway. Below is the October colorway.

Next is the Berries colorway.

Last is the Reeds colorway. (This one’s my favorite!)

Somewhere under this giant pile of merino is a guestbed… I think….

And now for the finished products!

First is Berries!

Then we have Maple!

Here’s Oregon Coast!

Here’s October!

And finally we have Reeds!

and the house smelled of wool…  Thankfully R’s out of town this weekend so there’s no one complaining!

I’ve been madly dyeing fiber as Stitches quickly approaches.  I’ve dyed more than enough fiber to fill the rack, and I’m going to finish up dyeing everything else I have today (that’s a total of 40 lbs of fiber!!!  30 lbs of superwash merino, 5 lbs. of merino/tencel and 5 lbs. of tussah silk!!), which will enable me to re-stock if I sell stuff (which I hopefully will).  =)

Without further ado, here (some of) it is!

Above is all of the merino/tencel I dyed I think on Monday…

Below is some superwash merino drying in the Willow and Oregon Coast (new!) colorways…

Next up is a bit more Willow and a lot more Blackberry Swirl superwash merino

Here’s a close-up of the Willow…

The Blackberry Swirl…

And the Oregon Coast…

Here is the October colorway in superwash merino steaming on the stove…

And the Maple colorway in superwash merino steaming on the stove…(Notice the times on the stove clock — yesterday was a long day!)

Here’s some dry fiber I dyed last weekend! I’ll only show the new colorways…

Here’s merino/tencel in Flame!

Merino/tencel in Midnight Sky!

Tussah silk in Maple!

And lastly, tussah silk in Berries!

I admit it, I’m silly.  If I weren’t, I wouldn’t have spent days drawing a funny little creature holding a ball of fiber as my logo.

And I wouldn’t have put him on a t-shirt.

Oh wait, there’s more!

Look for me at Stitches wearing my Fiendish shirt… at least one of the days…

And if you want one of your own, you can order one at Cafe Press.

Also, here’s a spiderweb I found when looking for a place to hang the shirt for a picture.

Mojo is 6 months old!

He doesn’t look that different from last month, but he weighs quite a bit more!  He’s now 39 lbs!  He’s 19″ tall at the shoulder and 25″ long (neck to base of tail).  He pretty much looks like an Australian Cattle Dog, but I still think he’s got some Yellow Lab and Rottweiler in him.  He looks so much smaller than Siena, but he now only weighs 11 lbs. less than her! Also, his ears are always 100% perked up now.

Siena, as always, is a couch potato…

She looked particularly odd yesterday piled atop all the pillows…

And Lilla, ahhh, Lilla….

Somehow the senile old lady happened to poop in her food dish on Tuesday. Even sadder, it was the highlight of my day…

I’ve been busy spinning some more bulky superwash merino for Stitches.

Here’s some in the Midnight Sky colorway…

And here’s some in the Mars colorway…

I also did knit up a quick hat with the Flame colorway yarn I spun last week.  It’s a spiraling pattern, which is going to be offered free with the purchase of any of my fiber or handspun yarn at Stitches (or any online purchase for a limited time).

The above shot shows the colors better.  The photo below (with my pale sickly face gimped out) shows the shape better.  Trust me, it’s better this way.  With the combination of flash and the flu, I really didn’t look good…

Next up is the new colorway Blackberry Swirl!
